This story was submitted to the Poeple's War Site by Chloe Broadley of the CSV ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Coventry and Warwickshire Action Desk on behalf of J. Corrigan and has been added to the site with her permission. The author fully understands the site's terms and conditions.

This story was told to me by my mother Margaret E. Healey. She told us that during one air raid in Coventry my mum was at work at the Dunlop in Holbrook Lane and instead of going to the shelter she rode her bicycle home in Lythalls Lane. She told us she could see and hear the plane above her as she rode he bike home to be with us. She wanted to be with us while the air raid was on, not in a shelter somewhere else.
