this isn't actually a story about the war but what i've learnt through my community placement. As part of my school work i spend Thursday afternoon working at my local library for the people's war project. I met a man named peter last week and learnt of his story during the war. He was very enthusiastic to speak to me about certain things and even showed me some of his pictures from when he was younger. he is coming back next week to finish his story and i am looking forward to it. His stories interest me and it really is a wonderful oppurtunity to learn of experiences first hand. i enjoy doing this though sometimes you learn things you wouldn't want to know but it is the reality of things. I think no matter what part you played in the war every person's life changed from that point on.
