I was in Bristol for forty three years. There was an underground bomb shelter, sort of like a cellar. I was a motor engineer. The Blitz was small but major.
I used my ration book a lot. We did not get many sweets. It was hard when I got married during the war. We did not have lovely food like today at most weddings. We were so busy we did not have time to have fun.
