I can remember planes returning to the local airfields with holes in their wings and asking my father why this was so. A bomb landed fairly near to where we lived and I still have part of the tail fin. The target was Waddington Airfield
My father was in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard in North Hykeham and also fire watched in Lincon until 1944 but I was never allowed into the cupboard under the stairs because that was where the rifle was kept
