This story was submitted to the peoples war website on behalf of Audrey Makepeace by her Grandaughter, a Csv Volunteer.

My cousin Joe was on a Battle Scapper in the Navy. He used to come home quite a lot on the weekends and he used to have me making mock fishe for the sailors. He used to bring three home, there was one called Lofty, a great big tall lad, and he could eat the mock fish like he was eating sweets.

my mother and me used to make them, and Joe used to always make sure that he rang somewhere near so that we knew they were coming and we culd have the mock fish ready.
