My father,Chiller Starns, was fighting with the Durhams in Burma. On the 16th June 1944,at a place called Mao Sonsan, he was wounded. Back home,in England, on the same day, our house was bombed and I also was wounded, albeit only slightly! In his diary he wrote... "Moved forward and took a hill, no opposition.Had been digging in for about 10 mins when he opened up with m/g fire and caught several of us.Went to M.D.S. for an operation and spent the night there". Later on he added "Have since learnt that our house was hit by blast from a bomb. My unlucky day!"
I believe this was the first buzz bomb recorded
