I asked mother to go to our school to see Mr Jackson, “he may be able to get us some extra help with clothing and bedding” I said.
We were called into his office.
“How are you coping with the children, Mrs Foulds” asked the headmaster.
“I am fine with the two girls, but I think I’m losing control with the two boys”.
“Just let me know if you have any problems and one word will sort that out, do you understand Roy and Terry?”
“Yes sir”
“I will see what help I can get for you Mrs Foulds”
I remember feeling betrayed by our mother, when we got outside we had words with her and asked her why she had betrayed us to the headmaster
