When I was able to get out of bed and wander about I noticed a hut not far away from the one I was in. There were two beds outside the hut containing Japanese prisoners and they were guarded by soldiers. There were soldiers with fixed bayonets to prevent any soldier patients, of which the hospital was full - Burma veterans, I suppose - making “approaches”.
