Gas masks are not a good memory for both of us - they were smelly and made you sweat.
Mu mum used to work at "Gas Mask" on Garden Street. Now it's called Newmans Slippers.
I remember the blackout - you had to feel the walls to be able to get from house to house.
Dad was in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard and Sunday was his drill day.
