This story was submitted to the Peoples War site by George Tirrell’s grandson Will tells this story. George Tirrell was in his unit and was in two ranks either side of the road when they heard a Stuka it them swept the two ranks with bullets the two ranks then jumped into the bushes at the side of the road and as George jumped he managed to land on a dead pig.
