My date of birth is 21.03.197

I remember air raid warnings and going down to the air raid shelter which had 2 bunk beds. To me it always seemed to happen during the night. My father was exempt from joining the armed forces because he was a railway engineer driver.

We were lucky because we were in Hull during the Sheffield Blitz, then back in Sheffield when Hull was blitzed. I had started nursery school during the war which was bombed. I don’t remember any causalities.
