Why was I inspired to write this? For me there is one reason and one reason alone. It is very important, no it is vital, that we always continue to remember World War 2 which in my opinion has bought peace and prosperity to a once very divided continent. People of a lesser age than me, and older, gave there lives so we could have freedom and prosperity. Without their scarfice the world today would be a very different place.

My story is about my Grandad who is no longer here. In 1942 a daring raid was planned on the French town of St Naizre which was used by the Germans as a U-Boat base and a dock for their warships. small fast boats were
