When I was ten years old I was in a concert in the NAFFI. I sang Christopher Robin, dressed in a pair of pale blue pyjamas, carrying a candle in a holder. In the second half of the concert I sang the Second Minuet complete with crinolin dress, bonnet and parasol. I remember being very nervous and finding it a little difficult to sing because of all the smoke from the cigarrettes the soldiers were smoking.
There was a lot of smoke drifting across the footlights and I couldn't see very much but I got a big round of applause at the end - I wonder whether this would be thought of as entertaining today?!
