My mother and sister were born in Cheltenham and their two youngest were evacuated to Cheltenham. Auntie Pat’s youngest and I got first class accommodation. It was real super. Pat was about ten years and sat knitting and I was 8 or 9 years and I liked the park near by and I went there with friends most days after school while Pat sat indoors and kept to herself. There was a swing in our very garden on which I loved to swing and a little girl of the ladies came to join me. It was real wonderful for me with this childless married couple, the husband worked at a brewery near-by. The house where we stayed was near the Black & White Coach station, the air there was super and our parents came to see us
