A Tribute to the Heroes of D.Day

How do we start to say thank you,
For all that you did just for us.
When you embarked on that frightening journey,
And you did so without any fuss.

The fearful unknown lay before you,
No chance, now, to turn back the clock.
Just a leap into cold friendless waters,
There to face the horror and shock.

The shock of losing your best friend,
When he was killed there, right by your side.
We know you will never forget him,
We too, will remember you with pride.

We are proud of all the brave people,
Who fought to bring us peace to the world.
So with the love in our hearts we salute you,
As the banner of peace is unfurled.

MAY WE. SOMEHOW, ALWAYS ENDEAVOUR,
To remember how you played your part.
May peace be with us forever,
And God grant you peace in your heart.
