William {Ted} Brunt served as a Flying Officer in the R.A.F.Volunteer Reserve.During a German bombing raid he climbed a radiomast to repair essential communications. He was later awarded a certificate and medal showing he was 'mentioned in despatches'for distinguished service.Secretary of State for Air Archibald Sinclair was'charged to record His Majesty's high appreciation.'
Any more details would be welcome;eventually to pass onto Ted's grandchildren.
