Between Seacroft and Crossgates on the outskirts of North East Leeds was a tank factory manufacturing Churchill Tanks. The German Bombers tried many times to hit this factory - to my knowledge, it did not succeed.
My parents and I would take refuge under the oak dining table surrounded by eiderdowns and blankets until the raid was over.
This oak table is now at my dauthers in the utility room!
