I would be 8 years old in 1944 in South West London during the attacks by the VI flying bombs. My Uncle Len was a navigator on Stirling Bombers and had finished his tour of OPS and we were invited to lodge at Silverstone village recommended by Uncle Len. Uncle Len showed me over a Wellington Bomber (quite unofficially perhaps)
