I was a child during the War. I was sent away by my parents to a farm in Derbyshire for safety. The farm had no running water or electricity. I had to change schools and make new friends. I had to walk a long way in the dark on my own to get the bus to take me to my new school. I was at the farm for less than a year but I enjoyed my time there. We roamed the countryside and helped with the chickens. In the end a 'Doodle Bug' landed on our school and demolished it. Then my parents went to live in Cheddington and I joined them, we rented a house.
