We had a fierce Matron at the isolation hospital where i worked, at the top of Gallows hill in Hertford. When we went out to town for a night out we had to make sure that we were back in the nurses quarters before the curfew or we were in trouble with Matron. Many times I remember having to run like mad up the hill to make it back in time.
