My wife’s claim to fame is that her sister is married to the brother of John Pulford, who flew in Guy Gibson’s plane, as navigator I believe, on the Dam Busters raid. Not many people realise he was from Hull, Waterloo Street and is buried in Northern Cemetery. My wife’s brother in law has got his DFC and mementoes. He still lives in Hull and visits his brother’s grave regularly.
