I remember hearing a doodlebug coming over our house that was very loud. I was only eight years old at the time, but I knew I had to get into the Morrison shelter. It was a good job I did. It landed in the road, just around the corner from my home and the engine was still running. Suddenly, it exploded and blew our front door right off its hinges - just where I had been moments before. Glass flew everywhere.
The only thoughts going through my mind were 'where are the rest of my family?'
When I finally got to see them I was relieved to see they were alright. The house was a bit of a mess though.
