After being billeted in France in 1940, my brother Alf came home on leave. My father, a veteran of the previous war showed him a photo of the house he had been billeted in. "I'm in the same house." said Alf.
The house was now being run by the daughter of the lady who'd looked after my father. My sister Theresa (Rene) was named for her.
In later correspondence the lady promised my father that she would look after his son as her mother had looked after him.
This story of the coincidence was featured in the Daily Express. A tattered cutting from the paper is still in my possession and is available as a .jpeg.
