Soon after the war the nurseries were taken over by the Ministry of Education and qualified teachers were introduced for the senior posts. St Catherine’s Road remained a day nursery for working mother’s until it was burned down, when I think it moved over the road and became St Peter’s Day Nursery. Two of the seniors from Dysart Rd became Matron and Deputy Matron at St Catherine’s Rd.
