I was 4 years old when the war started. I remember the sirens and being frightened and me and my mum having to hide under the table when they started. Later on they fitted the cellar out with corrugated iron and we hid in there.
Dad came home after the war in 1946. I remember my sister Janet screaming when he came into the house. She was only born at the beginning of the war and did not know him.
