I remember my Mum and Dad surrounded by Americans at Rougham airfield. The Americans went on bombing raids over Germany during daylight; only the British raided at night.
My Mum walking me along when a disabled plane crashed into trees ahead of us, and an ambulance crashed into a house! But we survived! The Polish Free army took over from the Americans. When they had movie films they let us children sit at the front, for free, as we understood about these films.
