While in the Pacific HMS Idefatigable had to stop in Australia for repairs. This is a photo of my father in Australia, he sent it to my mother and wrote on the back 'Can I help it if I'm followed by beautiful girls wherever I go?'. This was typical of his sense of humour, I think my mother took it in the way it was meant, she always said he was a big head though!
