My parents, who lived in Kenya, were travelling to India by ship, during the Second World War. In those days, it took a ship ten days to reach India. Before the ship could reach Bombay, my grandparents heard the rumour that the ship my parents were travelling on had been torpedoed. Imagine their joy when they finally learnt that my parents were safe and sound.
