My mother Christine Goddard was born whilst my Grandfather, Arthur Vitler was in the Far East. He didn't come home until she was nearly 3. When he did arrive back and was introduced to my mother as her father, she wasn't too impressed. First of all she ran down the hallway and bit his bum. Then she refused to believe he was her Daddy, pointing to a picture of him on the mantlepiece and saying 'That's my Daddy not you'. But everything was fine after that dodgy start to their relationship. Although she remained a bit of a handful!
