This is my late mother's account of her war service, of which she was very proud. If you remember my mother, I would love to hear from you. I asked Mum to write this account several years ago. She passed away in 2001 aged 79 years.

W/94154 Acting Lance Corporal Mary 'Molly' Delaney (nee Kennedy).

Enlisted at Pontefract Barracks 15/10/41. Trained for operational duties for 488 HAA Royal Artillery at Tile Hill and Stoneleigh near Coventry. Undertook Command Post duties as a plotter and RT operator. Posted to Yeadon, Leeds with 644 HAA(M) Battery. Volunteered for overseas service with SHAEF at Bushey Park. Was a medic with 22nd General Dispensary (American) and with 2nd General Hospital RAMC Shropshire. Landed after D Day on American beach head and travelled to Paris. Was at the American Dispensary at St. Cloud caring for wounded soldiers and escorted them back to England. Served with colours from 24.10.41 until 1.7.45. Overseas Service in North West Europe 1.10.44 until 1.7.45.
