Story collected at the Help the Aged coffee room in Cambridge, by Philippa Geering.
I was with the search lights - it was an office job and I remember we were moved from Scotland down to the Isle of Wight. The funniest thing happened when we were transferred from the train to the ferry - we had to march. We couldn't eat the buffet which was prepared for us there because there was no time. The girl in front of me had a tin mug that kept falling off and I had to keep picking it up. We looked like such stragglers.
