I was born in Ipswich in 1915. I served in the war for about 5 years - I was discharged after the war. Prior to the war I worked for various dealers in radio engineering in the town. We used to go on courses in the Air Force, go to lectures for the things we were working on. I worked on big seaplanes - I sometimes had to go up in the plane to work on it during the test flights.

After the war I had my own business in Ipswich in radios, washing machines and other machines.

I was stationed in Fleixstowe during the war and went to various stations in Wales and Scotland. I used to go around repairing things but there had to be water for the sea planes to land.
