As a footnote to my wartime stories:-
I was very lucky in my service.
I had no hardships or sufferings.
I had good food and a good bed.
I could go out to towns, pubs, dances, cinemas and shows.
I had quite a lot of leave and I could go home.
Although I did 53 bombing operations, compared to many I did not have much trouble.
I was well paid 16/9d a day, seven days a week plus marriage allowance for the last year of my service.
That is my opinion.
