I was born in 1947.

My father, Arthur Arnold, served with 1st/7th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He was captured during the battle on the Ypres-Comines Canal in May 1940 and spent almost 5 years as a POW in Poland, maily in Stalag XXB. He died in 1999.

My mother, Beryl Eginton, worked in a factory making ammunition boxes in Birmingham and latter served in the Womens Land Army on farms near Stratford-upon-Avon. She is still alive aged 77.
