I joined the WAAF in 1941 and was posted to Headquarters Fighter Command at Bentley Priory as Corporal GD (Tech) and worked for Group Captain Mayes, from there I was posted to HQ 85 Group at Uxbridge and eventually we were posted to Normandy for 10 day before being posted to Ghent in Belgium were I was also promoted to Sgt, eventually in 1945 we were posted to Hamburg in Germany.
I would be interested in hearing from any of my colleagues from HQ85 Group WAAF.
