I am Brian French and I am pleased to present the 'war diary' of my late father in law Charles Simms of Sheffield, a medical orderly in the RAMC who landed on D day in beach division No 10, went to Caen with the Canadians and was in Paris for the liberation. It is entitled from 'D-Day to demob: The memoires of a linseed lancer'.

Charlie went back for the 50th D Day reunion in 1944 and died in the October of that year.

Please see Charlie's war; Memoires of a Linseed
Lancer submitted 16 June
