Born in 1936, my father was an engineer at the ICI plant in Billingham. We lived prior to the war in Sandy Lane, Billingham but later moved to Ripley Road, Norton-on-Tees. Being only 3 when war broke out, my initial memories are very vague but some, including 'trivial' ones have persisted.
