I joined the TA in 1939 at the age of 19 yeqrs.My unit was the 2nd.Battalion of the London Rifle Brigade"later to be known as 8RB) stationed at Bubhill Row. I became the Battalion NT Sgt but in 1942 I was sent to 166 Octu in the Isle of Man and I was commissioned into the Middlesex Regt. I joined the 1st. Battalion in March 1943 and immediately became the Battalion MTO a post I held until April 1946 when I was demobbed. I finished my service at Rendsburg Germny.
