I was just a baby when the Second World War was letting rip, and poor old Dad was away fighting with the Royal Navy, side by side with the Yanks in the Pacific.

I’m 60 + now and understand better the great sacrifice my parents generation made in order to secure the freedoms and democracy we now enjoy. So when researching my Family History at The National Archives, I discovered a wealth of information which inspired me to write a tribute to all those who have served with British armed forces.
