My father,Graham Douglas, was in the Argyll and Sutherland, Highlanders. He was born in Gateshead in 1913. Having come across some of his old letters detailing some of his experiences on the way to and in France,in 1944, I was curious to know if any of his old comrades were still alive, and remembered the send off from Southampton,in June of that year which he so vividly describes in his letter.
