I was born in Calgry Alberta of English migrants in 1921 (Ithat makes me 84yrs olf) I tried toget into the RCAF at pilot or observer in 1940 but all they did was giver me a physical and put me on a list. The RCAF was only taking University educated men at that time for P&O. I tyhink I was just the right age and was in good physical condition that theypupt me on this list to keep me out of the Army or Navy. I trained as a pilot - got a severe case of pneumonia, put on sick leave for four months and ended up as an Air Bomber, Navigation. First Ops was 1943 from Linton-on-Ouse (426 Sqdm) later from Eastmoor (415 Sqdn). My skipper was promoted to Wing Commander and so I did not fly often. We finished the War at Eastmoor. After getting home I was pushed through High School at a furious rate and finally got to Queens University Kingston Ontario and graduated MD CM in 1954. My skipper, the Wing Commder (KA France DFC) and I went through six yers of Med School together. Our mid upper gunner Harry Schmuck (lyes I did spell it correctly) became a RC. Priest. We three meet occassionally though we live a long way apart. I have retired from General Surgery in 1985. After this I returned every summer for some six years to take courses at Trinity Hall Cambridge or Worester College in Oxford. Okay take off from there and maybe we have something to talk about.
