I'm interested in the Second World War because not only did both my father and mother serve in the Army, but so did my grandfather.
My grandfather joined up in the First World War and then stayed on as a regular soldier in the Royal Army Pay Corps afterwards.
At the moment I know very little of where my father served, but he was commissioned into the King's Shropshire Light Infantry in 1940 and then transferred to the Herefordshire Regiment.
I have now persuaded my mother to write the story of her service in the ATS, which appears on this web site.
My parents met just at the end of the war, when they were both stationed in Shrewsbury.
