My name is Graham, I was born in 1940 in Solihull Warwickshire. I lived untill 1950 in Shirley which is located on the borders of Birmingham. My family consists of Father now deceased and my 95 year old Mother, a sister born in 1933 and brother born 1935.
My family were affected by WW2 in a semi-civilian way, my father was in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard, and due to Shirley's proximity to B,ham the bombing was a constant worry culminating in our house suffering terrible damage from a stray bomb dropped close by.
Also of concern to my parents was trying to raise a young family with all the deprevations of war time restrictions.
We have all thankfull survived these times
