I was born in 1942 in Heywood Lancs, where my mother lived with her parents until the return of my father from Burma in early 1946.

We then went to live near Nuneaton, Warwickhire, where my father had a job at Bulkington School, and afterwards in Hartshill.

In 1954 We moved to Norh Lincolnshire.

I wanted to put a memory in the archive: it is not, globally speaking, very grand, but very important in my own, and my father's, life.
