I grew up North of Colchester just on the edge of the then Boxted USAAF Airbase 150. Being just going six at the outbreak of the war, I grew up able to watch the base being built, the Americans' arrival and the impact they and their planes had on the local area.
I still live nearby, just at the other end of the runway, and I'm keen to share my stories of Boxted Airbase past and present with you all.
