I am a serving member of the Armed Forces and interested in WWII. I gained my interest in this period in history from my late Grandfather who would often talk of his adventures during those years. In the late 1980s and early 1990s my Grandfather was house bound and filled his time by writing some rather comprehensive and fascinating memoirs. On his death in 1993 I was lucky enough to receive them as something to remember him by. Although there are hundreds of pages concerning WWII I have decided to enter a small extract from his work discussing the outbreak of war and Dunkirk. I feel it would be a fitting tribute to him and the men he served with to submit some of his work on this website. I always joked with him that he should have his work published and he always dismissed it. I'm sure he would be pleased to know that I am now doing just that although through a media he never lived to see. I hope you enjoy the short passage I will soon be submitting.
