My name is Florence Stone. I am the daughter of Thomas Henry Payne (deceased) from Southend-on-Sea.
My mother Elin (nee Bjorgrimmsdottir) is Icelandic and, as stated in this story, came to England in 1945. She is now 85 years old and lives locally. I was born and raised in England but have visited many of the places in Iceland mentioned in my fathers story.
I would be interested to hear from any Icelanders living in the Southend area.
