My mother told me the story of her younger cousin Frank, who died just a week after his eighteenth birthday. When I saw the blackened cigarette case taken from his body I tried to imagine the courage of the young man who was only a teenager when he was flying missions over Germany, with the lives of a crew of men depending on him. I wish I had been able to meet him. All I can do is pass on his story.
