Hello there,

My name is Pete and I have joined this site to help post up my father inlaws (Bob Flexen)wartime experiences both in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Guard in England and then with the Royal Army Medical Corps in the Far East. Bob spent time attending patients at Changi Prison Hospital in 1945. After the prison was evacuated Bob was detailed to help fetch p.o.w's and internees from Sumatra, Thailand and Java as an orderly making return flights on Dakotas.

I also had an uncle in the RAF from 1943 to 1947. My uncle 'Father Gerry' (Rev. Gerard Colum Devlin), was a RAFVR Chaplain and also a Squadron Leader. I would very much like to find more details concerning his service days, especially in the Middle East. Some of the stations where my uncle was based included RAF Tern Hill (1944), Bishops Court and Middleton St. George.
