I was 15 when the war began. My parents would not give their permission for me to join the forces, so as soon as I was able I joined the Land Army. You did not need your parents permission to do this.
When the war was over I met one of my schoolmasters and we were married in 1948. He was in the Intelligence corps during the war and died in 1980. As he was under the Secrets Act until he died we did not know much of what he did in the war. Now it is possible to get this information we need to find others who were in the Intelligence corps as they were not allowed to write anything down and maybe we can know more from those still alive.
